Ridgely’s Record

No August community meeting

There is no community meeting scheduled for this month. The next meeting will be held on the first Wednesday of September (9/6).

Potluck in Conway Park

The National Night Out is an annual event taking place this year on Tuesday, August 1, from 6pm – 9pm, in Conway Park.

National Night Out encourages people to get outside to meet their neighbors and interact with police and fire fighters. The event is meant to strengthen neighborhood spirit and build partnerships in an informal setting.

Bring the roommates, the kids or just yourself and enjoy an evening of socializing. The Ridgely’s Delight Association will be providing hot dogs, burgers and veggie options and we ask neighbors to bring a side dish or dessert to share. BYOB.Post a note on the Facebook event page to let us know what you're bringing. It’s always a good time!

Dogs are ok, but must be kept on a leash. If you are available to volunteer for a shift at the grill, please email sharon@reuter.net

The Ridgely’s Gala

The Ridgely's Gala is back and better than ever! Join us for an evening of food, drinks, dancing, and learning.

Start your evening with a delicious dinner prepared by the talented chefs at Groundwork Kitchen. Then, hear from Baltimore-based adventurer and historian Evan Woodard. After that, dance the night away to the beats of Baltimorean DJ Damian Voss Lang.

The Gala is a fundraiser for the Ridgely's Delight Association, a neighborhood organization that supports community events and activities in Ridgely's Delight. Your ticket purchase helps to keep our neighborhood vibrant and thriving.

So what are you waiting for? Mark your calendars for Thursday, August 17th and join us for the 2023 Ridgely's Gala! Tickets are $85 each and are available online only. Purchase yours now at: 2023ridgelysgala.eventbrite.com

We hope to see you there!

RDA board seat opening

Are there any members in good standing interested in filling the vacant VP of Operations position on the RDA board? Please email president@ridgelysdelight.org with questions or to voice your interest. A slate of candidates will be published in the September newsletter and a vote will occur in October.

Time to renew your parking permit

The current virtual permits assigned to your vehicle(s) are set to expire on August 31. Please be on the lookout for an email from the Parking Authority with information on how to renew for Sept. 2023-Aug. 2024. If you are new to the neighborhood, please call 443-573-2800 or visit pabc.myparkinginfo.com to apply for new or temporary permits. Lastly, the Parking Authority has relocated to 211 N. Paca Street.

Community dumpster

There will be a dumpster on Conway Street for community use the morning of Saturday, August 5. These dumpsters are generally dropped off in the neighborhood around 9am and then picked up again by 11am.

Please do not use it for commercial waste, appliances (including microwaves and air conditioners) or building materials. Abuse could limit our ability to receive dumpsters from the city in the future.

In memoriam

We are saddened to inform you of the death of Ernie Atkinson, aged 85, on April 13th. Mr. Atkinson was the owner of the Baltimore Office Supply Co. (BOSCO), which has been located at 641 Washington Blvd. since 1921. He joined BOSCO in 1965 and purchased it in 1984. Over those many years, he has been an active member of our community whose kind generosity will be remembered. Our sympathies go out to his family, who continue to run BOSCO, which has become a family business, and remain community members.
