March community meeting

The community meeting for this month will be held on the second floor of Pickle’s Pub on Wednesday, March 1, at 7pm. All are welcome. There will be an online option for anyone who is uncomfortable with meeting in person. Login details will be posted on the Ridgely’s website at: ridgelysdelight.org/march23-meeting

Ridgely’s first Friday happy hour

Get a headstart on St. Patrick’s Day. This month’s First Friday Happy Hour will be held on March 3 at Quigley’s Half-Irish Pub, 633 Portland Street. New to the neighborhood? These events are a fun way to meet people-. People will start gathering there at 5:30pm.

Community dumpster

There will be another dumpster on Conway Street for community use on the morning of Saturday, March 4. The dumpsters are generally dropped off in the neighborhood around 9am and then picked up again by 11am.

Please do not use it for commercial waste, appliances (including microwaves and air conditioners) or building materials. Abuse could limit our ability to receive dumpsters from the city in the future.

St. Patrick’s Day happenings

The annual St. Patrick's Day Shamrock 5K will be held on Sunday, March 12. Join the ‘sea of green’ as they run through downtown Baltimore before hitting the post-race party at Power Plant Live! Register at: https://runsignup.com/Race/Register/?raceId=26055

Following the race, the St. Patricks Day parade will start at about 2pm on near the Washington Monument, then it marches south along Charles Street, and continues east on Pratt Street to Market Place and
Inner Harbor.

Babe Ruth birthday bash open house

Celebrate Babe’s 128th Birthday at the spot where it all got started-—The Babe Ruth Birthplace Museum on Saturday, February 25. Come hang out for a few minutes or a few hours, admission is Free.

  • 11:30am-2:30pm – Concession Stand (hot dogs, snacks, beer/wine/soda)
  • 1pm – Babe Ruth Program
  • 2pm –  Orioles Program
  • 3pm – Negro Leagues Program
  • Raffle
  • Free birthday cake!

Hold the date

The Ridgely’s Delight Association is planning to organize an ‘Opening Day Eve’ party on Wednesday, April 5 (the day before the Orioles return). Watch for more details.

More dining options coming to the neighborhood

Caribbean Dynasty Restaurant and Lounge is coming soon to the former Camden Pub (647 Pratt Street). Stay tuned for more information.

Also, Sliders Bar and Grille has been sold and is undergoing some major renovations. They plan to re-open in mid-March with an exciting new menu. 

Lunch “under the pipes”

Westminster Hall (519 W Fayette St) is bringing back a free lunchtime recital series featuring their beautifully restored 1882 Johnson pipe organ. Individuals attending are invited to bring their lunch. Concerts will be on the first Thursday of each month at 12pm beginning on March 2. Learn more at: https://www.westminsterhall.org/calendar

March recycling dates

Recycling is collected in the neighborhood on a bi-weekly schedule. Our pickup days this month will be:

  • Friday, March 24
