Neighborhood happy hour

Join your neighbors at Old Major, 900 South Carey Street, for this month’s Ridgely’s Delight Happy Hour. If you’re new to the area and would like to meet other people from Ridgely’s Delight, this is your opportunity.

This is a “vaccination preferred” event. We ask that all attendees maintain a safe social distance and respect boundaries of others while there.

Orioles opening day

Baseball returns to Camden Yards on Monday, April 11. The game is scheduled to start at 3pm, but the excitement and celebrations will begin much earlier. There will be some street closures so please be aware:

  • The 500 block of Washington Blvd. (in front of Pickles and Sliders) will be closed for most of the day.
  • Portland Street will be blocked between Greene and Emory Streets for a block party organized by Quigley’s Half Irish Pub.
  • The Babe Ruth Museum will be shutting Emory Street between Dover and Portland Streets for a private event. Dover Street will remain open.

Neighborhood tour of the new Lexington Market

Lexington Market will be re-opening in a brand new space this spring. We have organized a hard hat tour of this new building for Ridgely’s residents on Saturday, April 9, starting at 11am. The tour is limited to 25 people , registration is required and spots are filling fast. Register on the community’s website: ridgelysdelight.org/market-tour

Meet our new state representatives

Ridgely’s Delight was recently redistricted from the 40th to the 46th Maryland legislative district. Come and meet our new state representatives in an informal setting at Pickles Pub on Tuesday, April 26 from 5:30 to 7:00pm.

The Maryland Primary date is now July 19. In order to vote in the primary, you must register by June 28.

Mayor’s clean up

Ridgely’s Delight will be participating in the Mayor’s Spring Cleanup on Saturday, April 30. Come out that morning and help make the neighborhood shine. At 9:30am we’ll meet at the shed in the Burgundy St. parking lot.

Easter egg hunt in the tot lot

After a several year hiatus, the Easter egg hunt is back. Children who frequent the neighborhood tot lot are invited to join the hunt on Sunday, April 17. Toddlers ages 1-3 start at 9 a.m. Kids 4+ years old start at 9:45 a.m. Parents should supply the baskets for their own children. Easter hats are encouraged. We’ll have an egg coloring and decorating station at the playground. Please let Eileen know if you are attending so she makes sure there are enough supplies for everyone (egladd@yahoo.com)

Parking

If you are new to the area, please refer to the information on the neighborhood website for residential permit parking (www.ridgelysdelight.org/neighborhood/parking). Since our neighborhood is a pilot program for virtual permit parking (VPP), there have been some glitches regarding erroneous parking tickets. If you have received a ticket and you have correctly registered your vehicle or visitor online, please reach out to parking@ridgelysdelight.org so we can try to trouble shoot.
