RDA bylaws updates
The bylaws of our association provide operating guidelines for how we conduct business. While not the most exciting conversation, updating these to ensure smooth operations that keep the community first is important. With that in mind, I have made some recommendations to update job descriptions of a few of the president's responsibilities, allowing for email communication to bring the bylaws into the 2020s and membership. Most debatable is the recommendation regarding members in good standing status. Simply put — if you qualify as a member — you are in good standing. Over the past five years, community involvement has stagnated and decreased. This is readily seen in decreasing numbers for board member elections over that time span. Broadening membership in good standing builds inclusivity and community equity. To assure predictable votes and elections changes are also provided for how to establish quorum and community notice requirements before votes. Click here to access a document outlining changes to the bylaws — all highlighted in yellow. New words are highlighted in yellow, and removals are struck through.
I hope you will join us in October to provide to-the-point feedback and support for our changing organization. Thank you, Bobby Goodfellow, President, Ridgely's Delight Association

City Council redistricting
Mayor Brandon Scott recently introduced a city council redistricting plan that would move Ridgely’s Delight from the 11th District (Eric Costello) to the 10th (Phylicia Porter). The plan is not final, the council still has to approve or amend the map prior to it taking effect. See the full press release.
