Ridgely’s Record
October community meeting
This month’s community meeting will be held outdoors and in-person on Wednesday, October 5, at 7pm in the Melvin/Penn playground. There will be an online option for anyone who is uncomfortable with meeting in person. In the case of rain, a decision to go all virtual will be made one hour before the meeting. Details will be posted on the Ridgely’s website at: ridgelysdelight.org/oct22-meeting
There will be a presentation by a representative from the Northeast Maglev, a proposed superconducting magnetic levitation train that would travel between Baltimore and D.C. in approximately 15 minutes.

Nominations will also be accepted from the floor at that meeting. RDA is a volunteer organization and no dues are required for membership. To be eligible, you must have attended a few meetings or events prior to November. See the Ridgely’s website for more information.
Halloween scavanger hunt
Ridgely’s Delight is hosting our 3rd Annual Pumpkin Scavenger Hunt for neighborhood children. Adult participants will receive a number and a letter for your pumpkins. Put the decorated pumpkins out on your front stoop that afternoon. While trick or treating that evening, the kids will also be searching for numbered and lettered pumpkins to decode a secret message.
We will give the children treat bags donated from neighbors at the end of the scavenger hunt. A prize will be awarded to the best pumpkin as judged by trick or treaters and their parents. If you would like to participate, email: suclay62@gmail.com. Once we have an accurate head count, you will receive an email that will assign your number and letter.
Neighborhood happy hour
This month’s Ridgely’s Delight happy hour will be held at Picket Brewing Company, 1130 S Paca St. They will reserve the large table for us starting at 5pm. Feel free to bring outside food. Picket is offering $1 off full pours of Pickett beer (excludes mead, kombucha, and guest taps) from 5-8pm. Everyone is welcome!
