September community meeting
This month’s community meeting will be held outdoors and in-person, on Wednesday, September 7, at 7pm in the Melvin/Penn playground. There will be an online option for anyone who is uncomfortable with meeting in person. In the case of rain, a decision to go all virtual will be made one hour before the meeting. Movie night in Conway Park
Grab a chair or a blanket and head to the park on Friday, September 23. Come watch the Pixar film, SOUL, with neighbors. The movie is scheduled to start at approximately 7pm.
2nd annual tot lot ping pong tournament
The second ping pong tournament in the playground is scheduled for September 24th starting at 1pm. Everyone is welcome to compete (or just come to watch). Email maia.tatinclaux@gmail.com if you’d like to register a team or need more information.
Neighborhood happy hour
Join your neighbors on Friday, September 2, at The Back Yard, 131 S Schroeder St., for this month’s Ridgely’s Delight Happy Hour. People will start gathering after 5:30pm. Look for the group from the neighborhood.
The Ridgely’s Gala
Thanks to everyone who bought tickets to the first ever Ridgely’s Gala! It was huge success and surpassed all fundraising goals.
Congratulations to Lillie Hyman for receiving the “The Heart of Ridgely’s” award, and her husband Charles, who was recognized as “The Spirit of Ridgely’s Delight.”
Kudos to Bobby Goodfellow and all of the neighborhood volunteers who made the event possible.

Fleet Week
Maryland Fleet Week & Flyover Baltimore is coming to Baltimore on September 7-13. This festive event will attract hundreds of thousands of visitors to Baltimore and includes an air show and ship tours.
New this year, there will be an exciting series of flyovers of modern and historic aircraft, centered over the Inner Harbor, during the weekend of September 9-11.
Ships will be docked at various locations around Baltimore, including the Inner Harbor, Fells Point, Under Armour Pier Locus Point and Port Covington. Ship tours will be available from September 8-12 from 10 am- 5pm. For a complete schedule, visit mdfleetweek.org.
National Night Out wrap up
Nice weather and a big turnout of neighbors and first responders made this annual picnic in the park another success. Special thanks to Linda Hansen Fritz who is counted on every year for the trip to BJs, Jim Quigley who supplied the grill, Larry from the Ridgely’s Market who supplied the ice, the seven grillers who took turns laboring over the hot coals, and to the community association who paid for the supplies.

Come walk with us
Neighborhood Citizens on Patrol (COP) walks are every Monday evening at 7:30 PM. They are always looking for more people to walk with them. If you're interested in joining, please contact safety@ridgelysdelight.org
September recycling dates
Recycling is collected in the neighborhood on a bi-weekly schedule. Our pickup days this month will be:
- Friday, September 9
- Friday, September 23
DPW encourages residents to “Recycle Right” by putting accepted materials in their carts and avoiding the use of plastic bags and other contaminants. For a simple guide to what items get recycled in Baltimore, visit the DPW website.
Street sweeping
The scheduled sweeping dates in September are:
- Odd sides of the street — Wednesday, Sept. 21
- Even sides of the street — Wednesday, Sept. 28
