Ridgely’s Record
Ridgely’s Delight Association (RDA)June community meeting
There will be an online community meeting on Wednesday, June 2, at 7 pm. Anyone who lives, works, or owns property in Ridgely’s Delight is welcome, but preregistration for this Zoom event will be required. Minutes from the May meeting can be reviewed at http://www.ridgelysdelight.org/minutes.
Neighborhood happy hour
Come and meet your neighbors at the first Ridgely’s Delight happy hour of the summer! It will be held on Friday, June 11, at Pickles Pub. We will reserve an outdoor area of the bar, starting at 6:30 pm. Everyone is encouraged to follow CDC guidelines with respect to their vaccination status.
Parking renewal update
The existing area #5 decal and visitor passes (that were issued in 2019) continue to be in effect. This Fall, our neighborhood is expecting to convert to virtual permit parking (VPP). If you are already in the Parking Authority of Baltimore City (PABC) computer system, you will be notified via email how to update your information as we transition to VPP. If you are a new Ridgely’s resident, it is important to get a parking permit so you do not get ticketed. Residential parking restrictions are being enforced. To get a permit, visit https://pabc.thepermitstore.com/purchase.php. Because this will be a holdover permit until VPP is launched, there will be no charge.
Updated information will be provided on Nextdoor and the Ridgely’s Facebook page, website and newsletter as it becomes available.
Food truck rally
Join the B&O Railroad Museum on June 5, starting at noon, for a summer Saturday of delicious food and delightful drinks from a variety of local food trucks. With live music, views of the Museum’s historic locomotives, train cars and roundhouse, plus full access to the museum itself, you’ll have plenty of reason to stay all day, sipping, snacking, and exploring the birthplace of American railroading. Tickets are $10. More information.
Do you have questions about the school options in Baltimore city?
Do you have kids (or are you planning to) and wonder what their options are? Join Live Baltimore and their “Way to Stay” expert on June 17 at 8 pm, for an informal question and answer online event. Participants will have the opportunity to ask their burning questions about school options in Baltimore City in real time.
Tickets are free but pre-registration is required for the event.
Yoga for a cause
Throughout the pandemic, an informal group of neighbors, led by Kristin Seifarth, gathered at Conway Park for yoga every Wednesday and Friday. Kristin’s employer, Constellation, considered the donation-based classes, that benefited the Food Project, worthy enough to receive an employee volunteer award. Because of that, the Food Project will be presented with an additional $10,000 beyond the $3,000 the group raised together. Thank you Kristin for keeping us connected, donating all of our “tip” money to a good cause, and being recognized for your achievements.
Take a self guided tour of the waterfront
The Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore has created a second walk in its “Waterfront Walks” series of themed and self-guided walking tours of Baltimore’s harbor neighborhoods — Sculptures, Art, and Photo Spots inviting visitors to discover the harbor’s attractions. The tour is split into three categories: photo opportunities, sculptures, and art, introducing visitors to 36 sights around waterfront promenade from Rash Field Park to the Broadway Pier in Fells Point.
