Liability Insurance
The Board discussed the needs for liability insurance in the particular (for the mural project) and liability insurance for general issues (such as the possibility of liability around neighborhood events).
Sandy explained that we’ve already submitted our application to the SBGP to get the grant. And we're in the waiting stage. Sandy has quotes for insurance for the project and also for general liability. The quote for the project insurance is about $700/year. Additionally $885/year for general liability. Paul has concerns about spending money on general liability as it would be a large percentage of our funds and not cost effective as we don’t have large funds. Sandy states that SBGP will pay for the project insurance as part of the grant.
The Board agreed to get additional quotes for the general liability. Sandy volunteered to compile additional quotes; specifically from the company that Federal Hill Neighborhood Association uses. The Board can then compare and make a decision.
2. Committee Reports
Gardening: Julia has volunteered to lead an effort to remove ivy from the Eislen lot and Conway park. The Board enthusiastically supported this.
Beautification: Discussion of some issues (trash dumped that needs to be cleaned up; tree trimming) and mitigating actions.
